What we collect and why

Website visitors

When you visit our website, our servers automatically collect standard log data. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of your visit, and referring URL. We use this to keep the website running, monitor for security issues, and understand how it is being used.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We have a legitimate interest in maintaining the security and functionality of our website. This processing does not override your interests or fundamental rights.

Enquiries and contact forms

If you get in touch with us via email or any contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this only to respond to your enquiry.

Lawful basis: Legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — specifically, responding to people who contact us.

Alumni Advocate Programme

If you submit an expression of interest in becoming an alumni advocate, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), country, city, university, course title, graduation date, LinkedIn profile URL, and CV (if provided).

We use this to identify candidates for alumni advocate roles across our current and future university partnerships.

Lawful basis: Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

We retain your details until consent is withdrawn or the submission is no longer relevant to our advocacy pipeline. To withdraw consent or request deletion at any time, use the contact details below.

Newsletter sign-up

If you sign up to our newsletter, we collect your email address and use it to send you updates about our services and resources.

Lawful basis: Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.

Cookies

We use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the website to function. These do not require your consent.

  • Analytics cookies — used to understand how visitors interact with the website. These are only set with your consent.

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the cookie settings on this website. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

Server log data: retained for as long as necessary for security and operational purposes

Enquiry correspondence: retained for as long as necessary to respond to and follow up on your enquiry

Alumni advocate submissions: retained until consent is withdrawn or the submission is no longer relevant to our advocacy pipeline

Newsletter: retained until you unsubscribe

Automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
